Sadly, the current state of wound care is about the same as it was when I went through my training 15 or 20 years ago. You’re lucky if you get any. What is taught in today’s world is very basic processes and procedures and techniques. And a lot of what is taught is in the surgical world when you’re in training. So, say you’re an orthopedist or a general surgeon or a trauma surgeon, and you have mostly acute wounds to treat, the go-to is a wet to dry dressing. You get some four-by-four gauzes, you wet them, you put them on the wound, and when they dry out sufficiently, you take them off and you repeat that process. That’s about as advanced of wound dressings as I was taught, and that’s still much the same today. Advanced wound healing simply isn’t taught. It’s a very niche area of medicine that’s not particularly well known by very many people. That’s why I’ve created the Wound Whisperer Master Class. If you have an interest in advanced wound care, this a great opportunity for you to understand the barriers to healing chronic wounds and discover tools and techniques for overcoming those obstacles. Visit the Wound Whisperer website to learn more about becoming a master wound healer. After all, no patient should unnecessarily suffer.
